HDMI Hybrid Active Optical Fibre Cable has glass optical fibres and extra copper wiring. The glass fibre core is for the high bandwidth requirements of 8K video. The copper wiring is for the low bandwidth requirements like ARC, HDCP, EDID. This design works quite well and is the preferred method of data transmission for HDMI over long distances.

The Hybrid active optical fibre HDMI cables have 48Gbps bandwidth and support 8K @ 60Hz resolution video. These active cables are made with a hybrid of fibre optics and copper with a genuine Silicone-Line module for low power demands and high performance. They include optical fibre cables for videos and copper cables for the other protocols. This configuration allows you to transmit HDMI signals for long distances with zero loss of signal. Additionally, the cables also offer higher resistance to EMI or RFI interference compared to all-copper cables. Using optical cable also allows greater flexibility with a smaller bending radius compared to copper HDMI cable and is much lighter in weight.
