SURGEx C1520 Water Hammer Arrestor for Washing Machines & Dishwashers – Lead Free, DN20 BSP

Stop the pipe banging caused when a washing machine or dishwasher valve closes. The SURGEx C1520 is a size A, piston-operated water hammer arrestor that absorbs pressure surges near the appliance, helping protect pipes, valves and fixtures. It has a hard-drawn seamless copper body and a lead-free brass DN20 (¾″) BSP tee with a swivel connection for fitting at the appliance inlet. It can also be used in other suitable plumbing applications.

The C1520 is suitable for hot and cold water and for new or existing installations. It is factory charged with nitrogen, requires no recharging and is maintenance free.

MATERIAL OF CONSTRUCTION

• Body: Hard drawn seamless copper                        
• Piston: Polypropylene PP
• O-ring: EPDM
• Seal lubricant: Dow-Corning Silicone or equivalent compound approved for use in potable water systems
• Adapter: Lead Free Brass, C46400

OPERATION
SURGEx-C1520 is pre-charged with pressurized gas (Nitrogen) and installed in the plumbing system near the source of the water hammer (such as the washing machine or dishwasher solenoid valves). When water flow suddenly stops, the piston inside the arrestor compresses the gas, which absorbs the pressure surge and reduces the risk of damage to the plumbing system. The compressed gas then slowly expands back to its pre-charged state, ready for the next water hammer event.

Correct connection sequence:

1. Connect the C1520's swivel female connection directly to the machine's inlet.
2. Connect the machine hose to the C1520's male connection.
3. Connect the other end of the hose to the wall tap
